Advance Passenger Information (API)

On specific routes all airlines are required to provide details about their passengers before they travel. This is a mandatory requirement and is known as Advance Passenger Information (API).
API is currently required on the following routes:
all international flights to/from the UK (including routes to/from Germany from 8th April 2013)
flights to Spain from UK and Morocco
flights to Italy from Morocco and Egypt
flights to Switzerland from Kosovo, Turkey and Morocco
flights to Germany from Morocco
flights to Portugal from the UK
flights to Russia
API refers to specific passport/ID card details and to comply with the API regulation, we will request all the following details for each passenger:
- Full name (as it appears on the passport/ID card)
- Date of birth
- Passport number/ID card
- Country where the passport/ID card was issued
- Passport/ID card expiry date
- Gender (where required)
This information must be provided for all bookings made online, through our contact centre and at the airport sales desk.
As this requirement is mandatory failure to provide the API for each passenger will result in you being unable to travel.
API can be added up to 2 hours prior to the scheduled departure time of your flight however we recommend that you provide us with this information as soon as possible. This can be done online, by calling our Customer Service Team or at the easyJet airport sales desk. To add APIs to your booking online, simply go to the ‘Check in online’ window on our home page www.easyJet.com on the right side, enter your details and add the requested information.
If adding API online please note that in the majority of cases the country of issue is the same as the nationality, however ID cards/passports issued by Foreign Embassies in foreign countries are considered as being issued by the country to which the embassy belongs. For example documents issued by the British Embassy in France will be issued by the United Kingdom. For IDs and passports which do not have an expiry date stated the date 5 years on from entering the API should be given, for example if today is 1 February 2012 you should enter 1 February 2017 as the expiry date.
If you made the booking on www.easyJet.com you can change API in your booking online. Simply login to My easyJet, locate the booking you wish to update and click on ‘Amend document details’.
